We are currently seeking a Program Supervisor in our Oswego Crisis Respite
Liberty Resources has 4 Crisis Respite locations with 3-8 beds in Syracuse, Oneida, Oswego, and Auburn. The respite homes are community based residential programs that provide a therapeutic environment for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. The program provides Peer Support Services utilizing individuals with a history of lived experience with mental health challenges and a willingness to share their story as well as Crisis Support Staff who have extensive experience in the field. The staff provides services including but not limited to health and wellness coaching, reoccurrence prevention planning, wellness activities, family support, conflict resolution, and referrals and linkage services. The goal is to stabilize crisis to support a guest’s safe return to their community and to provide preventive measures for reducing un-necessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations.

Program Supervisor Position Summary:
The Crisis Respite Program Supervisor provides support to individuals experiencing challenges in daily life that create risk for an escalation of symptoms that cannot be managed in the individual’s home and community environment. The Program Supervisor will report to the Director and support oversight of all of the regional respite programs. The Program Supervisor will work with staff to ensure peer support, health and wellness coaching, relapse prevention planning, wellness activities, family support, conflict resolution, and other services are provided to guests as needed across the region. The Program Supervisor will report to the Program Director and support oversight of all of the regional respite programs.
Program Supervisor Job Responsibilities:
Provides direct supervision to the Residential Support Staff including 1:1 supervision and group Peer supervisions as needed.
Oversees the daily operations of the respite programs during day, evening, overnight, and weekend hours.
Recruits, hires, and orients program staff.
Assumes implementation of service plans for each resident.
Works with the Utilization Manager, Transitional Navigator, and other program staff to coordinate Crisis Intervention Services’ Utilization Review process.
Provides supportive counseling, as necessary, and encourages each resident to make healthier choices in their daily lives.
Assures that household responsibilities and housekeeping functions are performed as required. Completes cleaning tasks as necessary.
Provides day-to-day oversight of residence counselors, coordinating assignments of daily tasks.
Carries out unannounced program visits at least monthly.
Program Supervisor Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Work experience in a behavioral health or related setting providing peer support is helpful.
Personal experience as a recipient of mental health services with a willingness to share personal and practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit program guests is preferred.
Certified by the Office of Mental Health (OMH) as a Certified Peer Specialist or Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (OASAS) as a Certified Peer Recovery Advocate or willingness to become certified within six months of hire is preferred
A respect for and high level of comfort around people experiencing psychiatric crisis.
Ability to utilize critical thinking, problem-solving and de-escalation skills to assist with creating and maintaining an environment that promotes recovery.
