ARS Peer Advocate

Position Summary: The peer advocate will provide supportive services to clients in ARS clinics
Essential Accountabilities:
1. Develop recovery plans;
2. Raise awareness of existing social and other support services;
3. Model healthy coping skills;
4. Provide peer support and advocacy after periods of hospitalization and incarceration;
5. Accompanying clients to court appearances and other appointments as needed;
6. Link clients to formal recovery supports;
7. Coordinate services with other clinical team members;
8. Participate in regulatory and agency trainings as needed;
9. Complete timely documentation in electronic health record;
10. Attend supervision as scheduled;
11. Maintain 42CFR and HIPPA rules on confidentiality;
12. Work with participants to identify strengths;
13. Must be able to communicate information verbally and in writing for the purposes of giving instructions, providing feedback and adjusting work practices;
14. Represent agency and clinical services at inter-agency meetings and conferences;
15. This does not exclude the assignment or performance of other duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
OASAS approved certification CRPA or CPRA- P
NYS driver’s license
