Cayuga Centers is looking for an individual who is passionate about strengths-based, youth focused work within the Youth and Family Resource Center. Youth Care Workers support the daily needs of youth within the respite program. Services are designed to support a child’s/youth’s developmentally appropriate skill development while also providing a safe and fun environment for needed respite. This program provides ample opportunities to expand your skills in engaging youth within the community with behavioral health needs.

How you get to use your skills…..

  • Demonstrate your areas of creativity and engagement by implementing a variety of recreation and skill building activities
  • Become a primary support in helping children/ youth develop preventative and responsive skills to cope
  • Work within the YFRC team collaborating in the development of plans to suit the needs of the child

Required Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree with experience in mental health or foster care work, preferred
  • High school diploma minimally required
  • Ability to form a mutually respectful and balanced relationship with the youth
  • Ability to apply youth strengths to inform development of daily living skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Ability to carry out interventions creatively to support client’s goal achievement
  • Excellent communication, organizational and collaboration skills
  • A strong belief in the ability of people to grow and change
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
