 Independent Living, Inc., is a progressive and dynamic cross-disability services organization and a leader in the provision of peer services in the Hudson Valley region.  Looking to hire a Program Manager – SUD. In this role you’ll supervise and actively work with the team to provide supports and services that promote recovery.

 

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and the ability to empower the team to provide group support, system navigation and advocacy efforts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises SUD (substance use disorder) Team Leaders, Program Assistant and Family Support Peers. In the absence of the Team Leader will also supervise the Peer Recovery Specialists.
  • Actively works with team members, side by side, to teach and promote and engage in street outreach and harm reduction education and supply distribution.
  • Frequently travel throughout the Mid-Hudson Region to support staff.
  • Empowers Recovery Peer Specialists to provide recovery coaching, group support, engagement skills, systems navigations and other outcome-oriented supports targeted to individuals in recovery from SUD.
  • Coordinates team meetings, staff training and attends management and external meetings as required.
  • Partners with Independent Living’s Workforce Development Specialist to assist with relevant presentations.
  • Coordinates regular opportunities to provide peer perspectives to all stakeholders of our rapidly evolving physical, mental health and SUD healthcare systems.
  • Develop and foster community relationships throughout the Mid-Hudson Region.
  • Leads the program staff in new outreach & marketing opportunities throughout the Mid-Hudson Region.
  • Ensures all program staff enroll in, and complete, required training(s) by the stated and/or required deadline(s).
  • Acts as professional liaison with state agencies regarding programmatic matters and reporting requirements. Supervises data collection and implementation activities among all recovery staff ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Completes all required and assigned internal and external reporting and record keeping within required timeframes including Acces-VR reporting.
  • Supervises data collection and implementation activities among all SUD staff ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Proactively reviews and audits Foothold and reports to ensure entries are accurate, entered as expected and reasonable as related to service provision.
  • Participates in and facilitates the SOR Recovery Partner meetings throughout the regional network.

SHIFT:

  • Monday through Friday 9am-5pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Work or a related field preferred or associate degree with commensurate experience.
  • Minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Two years of Recovery Coaching experience preferred.
  • Must have lived experience with substance use recovery either personally or through a family member/loved one who has gone through recovery and be comfortable with self-disclosure as needed.
  • Passion for promoting recovery and all pathways in recovery.
  • Must have strong leadership qualities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer software skills. Prior experience with Foothold/Awards a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize the need for and facilitate connections between participants and IL and other disability related serv
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate and/or New York Certified Peer Specialist Preferred. Must complete the required CRPA training within the first six months of employment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the recovery process and Recovery Oriented Systems of Care.
  • Knowledge of services in Orange, Rockland, Dutchess, Ulster, Westchester.
  • Must possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) capabilities a plus.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the recovery process and Recovery Oriented Systems of Care.
