Understanding grief is crucial for peer support specialists, as we often work with individuals who are navigating the complex emotions and challenges that accompany loss. A bigger part of peer work is understanding how grief affects us in our work; whether it is a professional loss or a personal loss, it can have a lasting impact on our lives and our work. This presentation will discuss the stages of grief, the many facets of grief in peer work, and strategies for working through grief so we can continue to work in the spaces that need us.

Presented by Tanya Kraege, LCSW, CSAC, WI Certified Peer Specialist (She/Her), Director of Peer Services at Safe Community Coalition of Madison and Dane County.
